NBC has again released a whole lot of images for an upcoming episode of Dracula.
This time, the photos are all from the November 29 episode of the series, which is called “The Devil’s Waltz.” Here is how the network describes it:
Harker discovers that General Shaw is far from the heroic figure he presents to the public. Van Helsing’s first attempt at infusing a vampiric test-subject with his solar-serum is a disaster. Lord Davenport’s agents abduct and torture Renfield. Harker and Mina’s engagement party sets a stage for betrayal and contretemps when a single dance between Mina and Grayson unveils their true feelings.

Had to watch “The Devil’s Waltz” twice last night… what a fantastic episode. I did find the torturing of our beloved Mr. Renfield extremely hard to take, and had to mute the sound of those parts. But all that suffering was mightily countered when the happy sight of Count Dracula on the upper balcony. Now, I must say that had the writers allowed us audience members to witness the fate of that evil torturess, I could have watched in slow motion, with all details. One only hopes that Lord whats-is-name who hired her will suffer equally, for his villainy. Bastard.
The composition of the music for the waltz with Madam Mina was so wonderfully rich and complex; minor key notes embellishing the dance with such depth and thoughtfulness. The cinematography and choreography were also to be much applauded. Subtlety has become something of a lost art in modern television productions, and this series is feeding my hunger for it. What could be a cliche in any other hands than this producer’s, has delivered a very well-done piece of art. Capturing the play of the hands of both Dracula and Mina, so wonderfully done, pulled me into the dance, and twisted my heart.
Thank you. I needed that.
