When Doctor Who returns this Spring on the BBC, a group of classic creatures from the series who have not been seen in many years will be coming back as well.
The promo trailer for the new series had shown a glimpse of this, and now an interview with the Perthshire Advertiser has one actress confirming who she’s playing…
Actress Neve McIntosh confirmed to the paper that she will be playing a Silurian, a post-prehistoric creature first seen in the Jon Pertwee Doctor Who serial “Doctor Who and the Silurians.” The creatures later returned in the Peter Davison era’s “Warriors of the Deep,” but the less remembered about that, the better.
“I play twins, and they’re big lizardwarrior women,” she said. “They’re one of the Silurian tribes that have been undisturbed under the earth. And of course we get disturbed.”
“It’s the first time I’ve worn prosthetics but I’m still recognizable if you know me well enough,” she continued. But there’ll probably be lots of people going, ‘Who the hell is that?’”
You can read the full interview here – that is, unless the BBC spoiler police come down on the Perthshire paper!

Looking forward to some classic creatures! I have been a fan of Doctor Who since the very first season in 1963!
