HBO has released a new teaser for season two of Sarah Jessica Parker dramedy Divorce and in it, we see that the process of conscious uncoupling extends far beyond the signing of the actual paperwork. Season two will be focusing on what happens after the nastiness of the initial post-split shock subsides and how someone married for a long time must rebuild their sense of self once they’re alone again.
From Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Divorce follows Frances (Parker), an unhappily married corporate headhunter whose experience with her similarly jaded friends inspires her to divorce long-time husband Robert (Thomas Haden Church). However, Frances soon realizes that consciously uncoupling is more emotionally, financially, and logistically complex that she had anticipated and that the buried resentment and anger between herself and Robert manifests itself in way damaging to the both of them.
In addition to Parker and Church, Divorce stars Molly Shannon (Enlightened), Talia Balsam (Mad Men), and Tracy Letts (Homeland). Ugly Betty alum Becki Newton will be joining the cast as Jackie, a realtor who gets involved with newly single Robert.
