If you’re hoping for Deadly Class Season 2 to come on Syfy, you’re out of luck: Despite positive reception for the first 10-episode season, the cable channel has pulled the plug on the television series that starred Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, and Benedict Wong.
Based on the Image Comics series by the same name by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, Deadly Class had the unfortunate situation of being a show not wholly owned by NBCUniversal, as it was a co-production with Sony.
Deadly Class isn’t the only show cut down by Syfy today; Happy! is also ending after three seasons. Remaining on the network are series Krypton, The Magicians, Van Helsing, the final season of Killjoys, and Wynonna Earp — though the future of Wynonna is also uncertain because of issues with financing for producer IDW.
Co-producer Sony Pictures Television is expected to shop Deadly Class to other outlets. With its fantastic cast and intriguing story, hopefully it will land somewhere.
