VH1 has released the trailer for upcoming showbiz soap Daytime Divas and in it, we see that perception isn’t always reality, especially when it comes to the world of television.
Based on Star Jones novel Satan’s Sisters and developed for television by Amy and Wendy Engelberg (Drop Dead Diva), Daytime Divas follows the behind the scenes happenings at daytime talk show The Lunch Hour, an all-female ensemble who talk about everything from politics to sex, parenting, and style while portraying themselves as the greatest of friends. However, once the cameras stop rolling, the co-hosts are embroiled in a world of power struggles, diva fits, and steamy affairs that would make even the most adventurous of their viewers blush.
The lone scripted drama on VH1 following the exodus of Hit the Floor and The Breaks to BET, Daytime Divas stars Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty), Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris), Fiona Gubelmann (Wilfred), Camille Guaty (Happyland), Chloe Bridges (The Carrie Diaries), and McKinley Freeman (Hit the Floor).
The series premiere of Daytime Divas is set to air Monday, June 5th at 10:00 on VH1.
