Netflix has released untagged versions of the first two official photos from Marvel’s Daredevil, coming later this year.
Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Marvel’s first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (“Spartacus,” “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel”) and Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods,” “Lost,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” in addition to writing the first two episodes of “Marvel’s Daredevil”), along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”). “Marvel’s Daredevil” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
The initial costume, seen below, is inspired by John Romita Jr.’s work in The Man Without Fear, and we’re hoping that’s just a temporary thing because we’re used to seeing DD looking like a devil. The second photo of Charlie Cox in costume as Matt Murdock.
Enjoy. We will also be covering more Daredevil at our DD portal, DaredevilTV.net!

That initial costume, which I’m assuming is like Bruce Wayne’s ski mask getup in Batman Begins, (that is to say just a disguise before the costume is made) is just like the suit Rex Smith wore in “The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk;” the first ever live-action Daredevil adaptation. If you’ve not seen it, it’s a fun movie for what it is. It won’t blow your mind and it’s nothing like the comics but it is an early superhero movie and it’s actually pretty interesting. But anyway, it’s kind of fun to see that being called back. I hope it brings more attention to the underrated TV movie I mentioned above. I think most people think Ben Affleck was the first live-action Daredevil. He was the second.
