Netflix has released the trailer for upcoming drama Cursed and in it, we see a new perspective on a familiar character.
From Frank Miller (Sin City) and Thomas Wheeler (The Cape), Cursed is a take on the Arthurian legend of Nimue (Katherine Langford), the young woman destined to become the Lady of the Lake, told through her eyes. The series is described as a coming-of-age story with themes familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious zeal and oppression, senseless war and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.
In addition to Langford, the series stars Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf SkarsgÄrd (Vikings), Daniel Sharman (Teen Wolf), Peter Mullan (Quarry), Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The State), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles), and Billy Jenkins (Humans).
Set to premiere Friday, July 17th, Cursed is part of another jam-packed month for Netflix, joining the second season of The Umbrella Academy, action drama Warrior Nun, the second series adaptation of Ann M. Martin book series The Baby-Sitters Club, Cate Blanchett limited series Stateless, and a litany of foreign scripted shows including Get Even, Signs, Norsemen, Kissing Game, and Dark Desire.
