So Help Me Todd & CSI: Vegas Canceled at CBS

“Dial Margaret for Murder” – While in the hospital recovering from an emergency appendectomy, Todd is convinced he overheard a plot to murder someone. When Margaret realizes her difficult but very important clients are interested in Todd’s theories, she jumps into the role of private investigator and brings them along for the ride. Also, Todd gets to meet his personal guru, Dick Franks, a grizzled veteran private investigator who shares the hospital room with him, on the CBS Original drama SO HELP ME TODD, Thursday, March 14 (9:01-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Despite being among the highest-rated series on broadcast television, multiple trade publications are reporting that both So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas have been canceled at CBS after second and third seasons, respectively.

On other networks, those shows may have had a longer life, but CBS already has a very full schedule with the shows they have renewed, especially considering the success of new series this year including Tracker and Elsbeth. There are only so many time slots available, and between the surprise renewal of S.W.A.T. and projects in development or already ordered to series including Matlock, NCIS: Origins, Watson, and the still-untitled Young Sheldon spinoff with Georgie and Mandy — something had to give.

CSI: Vegas was, of course, an update to the classic CBS franchise with veteran actors from the original series joining new series lead Paula Newsome. The final episode will air on Sunday, May 19.

So Help Me Todd had been pretty popular here at KSiteTV, with a lot of fans of Marcia Gay Harden and Skyler Astin tuning in every week. That finale will now air on Thursday, May 16, and TVLine reports that it ends on a cliffhanger. Both shows will certainly be missed.
