Adult animated programs Solar Opposites and Crossing Swords have been renewed by Hulu, the streamer announced Thursday.
From Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan (Rick & Morty), Solar Opposites follows a team of aliens who crash land in suburban America and find themselves torn as to whether their new planet is good or bad. On one side are Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone), who detest the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty they run across; on the other, human loving junk food junkies Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack).
From Tom Root and John Harvatine IV (Robot Chicken), Crossing Swords tells the story of good-hearted peasant Patrick (Nicholas Hoult) as he lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle. However, once he gets a peek behind the curtain, he realizes that his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks, and charlatans.
The renewals bolster a comedy slate for Hulu that includes PEN15, Ramy, Shrill, Dollface, High Fidelity, and Love, Victor. The streamer has a revival of Animaniacs; Amy Schumer comedy Love, Beth; an adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy from Carlton Cuse; and animated Marvel comedies M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey in the works.
