The series finale of Criminal Minds airs tonight as a two-hour event tonight (February 19) on CBS, and guest stars in the finale include folks such as Jane Lynch and Ben Savage. Surely, we can hope for more stars from the series’ past to show up in the finale as a surprise?
In any event, the finale starts at 9PM ET/PT with “Face Off.” in that episode, It has been a year since Rossi nearly died at the hands of Everett Lynch, a.k.a. “The Chameleon,” and he has developed some new theories, with inspiration from his former partner, Jason Gideon (Ben Savage). The BAU team sets out on an epic hunt to capture Lynch in the cliff-hanger to the series finale episode.
At 10PM ET/PT, we get the series finale itself, written by Executive Producer Erica Messer and series star Kirsten Vangsness. The title of the final episode is “And in the End,” and following an explosive face-to-face encounter with Everett Lynch, a.k.a. “The Chameleon,” Dr. Reid suffers from a brain injury and, while experiencing hallucinations, is visited by ghosts from his past. (This is totally where guest stars from previous seasons come in, right?) Also, the BAU makes a shocking discovery about Lynch that affects Rossi personally, and the entire BAU team comes together to celebrate Rossi’s retirement.
You can see photos from both episodes in the slide show below.
