You know how you’re walking down the street in New York after fleeing your office to avoid a dreaded promotion for a job you don’t want and you’re in a panic and you tried to take a nice calming sedative but you accidentally throw your pills all over the ground and suddenly you see your old summer camp boyfriend Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III), the one you haven’t seen in ten years and then, BOOM, you decide to move to his hometown, where he still lives? And then you don’t admit the truth of why you moved to anyone including yourself for about 9 or 10 months? CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND explores what happens to Rebecca Bunch when this EXACT thing happens to her. Oh, and while this is all happening, she and many of the people she meets burst into song on a regular basis. Last season on CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, Rebecca moved to a West Covina, California, inspired by her seemingly providential run-in with Josh Chan and started work at a law firm for a new boss, Darryl Whitefeather (Pete Gardner) who is so thrilled she moved to town he doesn’t question why. But new co-worker Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin) instantly sees Rebecca’s true motivation. To Rebecca’s surprise, Paula becomes her greatest ally, best friend and total enabler. They set out to concoct elaborate schemes to throw Rebecca and Josh together and they mostly succeed, re-igniting Josh’s feelings for her, despite the fact that he is still in a long term relationship with Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz), a haughty yoga instructor who correctly sees Rebecca as a carb-eating threat to her relationship

At the same time, Rebecca pursues an off-again, off-again relationship with Josh’s best friend Greg (Santino Fontana), throwing Josh and Greg’s relationship into turmoil. Rebecca’s arrival has unforeseen consequences for everyone in town – most of all, for herself. As she battles her demons, trying to carve out a happy, useful, moral place in the world, in the town where Josh Chan just so happens to live, Rebecca for the first time in her life has the freedom to make choices, many of them disastrous but hey, who’s counting? In the end, Rebecca finds herself entangled with both Greg and Josh and she has to make a choice between messy reality and her beloved fantasy world. You know how you’re on a date to a wedding with a guy and next thing you know you’re making love on a magic carpet over Southern California…?

From CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND is also executive produced by Bloom, along with Aline Brosh McKenna (“The Devil Wears Prada”), Marc Webb (“500 Days of Summer,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” films) and Erin Ehrlich (“Awkward”).
