ABC didn’t rest on their laurels with just ordering pilots to series today. No, the network went a step further and released brief teasers for each project it picked up as a way to hint at what to expect come next season. One such project is Conviction, ABC’s upcoming procedural that stars Agent Carter alum Hayley Atwell.
From Liz Friedman (Jessica Jones) and Liz Friedlander (Stalker), Conviction tells the story of the nation’s First Daughter Hayes Morrison (Atwell), whose well-documented self-destructive streak manifests a new direction for her life. After getting arrested for drug possession, Hayes is given an offer she can’t refuse; if she heads up the Conviction Integrity Unit, something established by the New York District Attorney that reexamines cases where there’s credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, she doesn’t have to go to jail. While Hayes certainly has the intelligence to successfully become head of the team, she’ll have to combat her fear of fulfilling her potential if she has any hope of sticking with the CIU and staying out of jail.
In addition to Atwell, Conviction stars Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead), Daniel DiTomasso (Witches of East End), Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY), Merrin Dungey (Chasing Life), and Shawn Ashmore (The Following).
ABC is set to reveal its 2016 fall schedule on Tuesday, May 17th. You can check out what KSiteTV thought the network could do next season here, as well as your first look at Conviction below.
