Constantine, adapted from the Vertigo series John Constantine: Hellblazer, is the only one of the DC Comics TV adaptations picked up for the 2014-2015 TV season that hasn’t already been picked up for another year. The show – which aired on Friday nights – achieved only so-so ratings and a mixed reaction from critics, although those who stuck with the series really seemed to agree that it got better from week-to-week.
As with any “bubble show” the fans have mobilized to “Save Constantine” so that the show gets a Season 2, and even celebrities like William Shatner have gotten in on the action. Also helpful is that the show’s creative team and cast all seem to be in support of the possibility of doing a second season, for which Executive Producer Daniel Cerone is said to be making a pitch late this month.

NBC and studio Warner Bros. Television also have not given up on Constantine, and this is where the fans come in. For a limited time, NBC is making the entire series available to watch for FREE at NBC.com. If this promotion does well, it could help the show’s chances for getting a second season. Some “save our show” campaigns have involved sending random things to the networks, but the real way to ensure a renewal? Prove to them that people actually watch.
So, go to NBC.com and watch some episodes if you haven’t already. If you wish to begin from the best episodes, Episode 4 “A Feast of Friends” and Episode 5 “Danse Vaudou” are good places to start.
