Bryce didn’t want to take over the clinic for Uncle Daddy after Roller died. Not only did he not want to get further into the criminal life than he already was, he knew that he could never measure up to Clay’s vision of Roller, so anything he could’ve done wasn’t going to be good enough. It didn’t help matters that once Bryce, inexperienced when it comes to dealing with the clinic, succumbed to Clay’s pressure, his father set up a robbery meant to keep him under the family thumb for that much longer. Feeling like he was never going to get out of debt to Uncle Daddy and having been traumatized by watching a body be dismembered, Bryce is willing to do anything it takes to get out from under his father’s rule, even if it means killing someone else.
On the next episode of Claws, Desna and Jennifer track Bryce down after learning that he thought Dr. Ken was the one behind Roller’s murder. Though the evidence against Ken was nebulous at best, it was enough for Bryce to believe that essentially bringing Uncle Daddy Ken’s head on a platter was enough to relieve the rest of his debt and buy his freedom from that point forward. This would save him from being even more culpable in Uncle Daddy’s crime ring than he already was; this would keep him from having to deal with cut up bodies ever again. But as desperate as Bryce might be right now, killing someone just isn’t in his nature, not when there’s a shred of doubt that Dr. Ken isn’t the one behind Roller’s death and not when him crossing that line could have adverse effects on his children. But if killing Dr. Ken isn’t on the table anymore, is there even a way out for Bryce at this point?
Elsewhere on Claws, a disturbing billboard ad leaves Dean shaken up, while Desna and Virginia visit Polly in hopes of shaking off the former’s past.
Claws airs Sundays at 9:00 on TNT.
How long will it be before suspicion for Roller’s murder falls on Desna and Virginia? Could the billboard that gets under Dean’s skin feature his and Desna’s abusive former foster family? How will Polly be able to help Desna rid herself of Roller once and for all?
