Desna’s original plan for saving her hide, as well as Virginia’s, was to lay as low as possible. Come up with a simple, effective alibi for where they were the day of Roller’s murder and back each other up whenever possible; neither she nor Virginia were going to get out of this mess without the help of the other and cobbling together some muddled alibi that could easily have holes poked in it would do nobody any favors. In order to stay alive and keep suspicion from casting onto them, Desna and Virginia were going to have to work together and hope that either somebody else would take the fall or the case would grow cold enough that Uncle Daddy and company would eventually give up hope.
On the next episode of Claws, Virginia finds herself in the hospital after crashing Roller’s funeral, all bloodied and hysterical. Rather than lay low like Desna demanded and go with the predetermined alibi, Virginia has opted to make up an elaborate tale of kidnapping, peanut butter, and pig licking that doesn’t fully convince, well, anybody of its validity. Uncle Daddy, in particular, doesn’t seem to be buying what Virginia’s selling, not when he knows how close she and Roller were getting, but he doesn’t have enough of a hunch to go after her just yet. Instead of successfully covering her and Desna’s tracks, Virginia’s new alibi is like blood in the water for Uncle Daddy, as it’s drawn all types of attention that would’ve been allocated somewhere else if she had just stuck with her lie. Can she and Desna successfully clean up this new angle they’re taking enough that Uncle Daddy doesn’t get wind of just how fabricated it is? Or is this the first step toward their cover being blown and their lives being put in danger?
Elsewhere on Claws, an incident at the clinic threatens Desna and Bryce’s standing with Uncle Daddy unless they can think quickly enough on their feet.
Claws airs Sundays at 9:00 on TNT.
How long will it be before Uncle Daddy figures out that Virginia’s lying? If he can suss out that Virginia wasn’t attacked by this mystery person who killed Roller, could Desna’s jig be up? What could happen at the clinic that would be this (potentially) detrimental to Desna and Bryce?
