As always, DC Studios head James Gunn will probably put out a confirmation or denial sooner rather than later, but at the current moment, the Production List website has a listing for Booster Gold where it says that filming will begin July 8, 2024 in Los Angeles.
Booster Gold was one of the first projects announced by Gunn for the upcoming DC slate, though there hadn’t been much more news about it since. Attempts have been made before to bring Booster to TV in his own series — a project was set up at SYFY over a decade ago, and the character appeared on both Smallville and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow — but this will be the first time a show for the character hits the air.
Timing-wise, it would make sense for Booster Gold to start filming soon, as the character is often shown merging superheroics with fame — something that Marvel’s long-delayed Wonder Man may also cover. If Booster runs soon enough, it might beat Wonder Man to the airwaves!
Here’s the logline on that site. KSiteTV will post an update if and when this is confirmed or denied.
Booster Gold is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Dan Jurgens, the character first appeared in Booster Gold #1 and has been a member of the Justice League.
UPDATE: James Gunn was asked about the Production List posting, and got an answer from the director and DC Studios head confirming that it is not true.
“Although we’re still working on Booster Gold, production isn’t imminent and that story/posting is completely false,” he said. So… there we have it. The Production List posting was jumping the Gunn… err, gun… and got the rumor mill buzzing a bit too early.
