As first mentioned months ago, a TV series based on the DC Comics character Black Lightning is in the works for FOX from producers Greg Berlanti and Salim & Mara Brock Akil. No pilot has been ordered yet, though we should hear news on FOX pilot pickups for the 2017-18 TV season within the next month or two.
The series would be based around the character who was first created by Tony Isabella with Trevor von Eeden.
CBR is reporting that Executive Producer Greg Berlanti was recently asked if Black Lightning will be part of the “Arrowverse” which includes Arrow, The Flash and more, so that crossovers might be possible between the shows.
“I don’t think so,” Berlanti answered. “If we’re lucky enough that that exists, that that show exists, I don’t think those worlds will cross over.”
More news about a potential pickup for Black Lightning should be available soon. FOX will be announcing their 2017-18 TV schedule in May.
