The CW has released an official description for the Black Lightning series finale “The Book of Resurrection: Chapter Two: Closure” and it gives nothing away… except, who is that listed fourth in the cast list? Could it be? Or is this a typo? We’ll find out on May 24 as this fantastic show reaches its end.
“BLACK LIGHTNING” SERIES FINALE – After four seasons, the game-changing, relevant and electrifying series comes to an end. Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, China Anne McClain, James Remar, Marvin Jones III, Jordan Calloway and Chantal Thuy star. The episode was written by Charles D. Holland and directed by Salim Akil (#413). Original airdate 5/24/2021
UPDATE: We now have some photos, and it’s interesting to note that there’s no China Anne McClain in the gallery, but there is a shot of Laura Kariuki as JJ.

Most likely a typo and/or an oversight considering they don’t have Laura Kariuki (JJ/Lightning/Jennifer 2.0) listed at all. IMDB has China listed as Jennifer through S04E05. Then Laura K. Is listed as being JJ in 8 episodes (405-413 excluding 407 Painkiller) with the finale 413 being the last.
Black lighting shouldn’t end. We need at least 2 more seasins.
Her name appears because she was originally billed for the season, I believe. The young woman that plays Jen now isn’t listed, so I would be extremely surprised if China appears for the final.
How are you sure China’s coming back?
I’m not sure at all; just that her name is mentioned in the press release, which could have been an error.
I’m angry that Black Lighting is ending, there aren’t enough black heroes, on tv. I now, have different feeling about the CW. Good bye Black Lighting.
