Showtime has announced that cat-and-mouse drama Billions has been renewed for a fourth season.
“Billions continues to build its audience as it explores the heights of power and wealth even as it plumbs the depths of the human psyche,” said Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks. “Brian and David are gifted, propulsive storytellers and we can’t wait to see where they and their extraordinary cast will take us in season four.”
Billions is coming off its highest rated season premiere to date, up 23% from the year prior. The series has climbed the ranks at Showtime to the point of coming in as their #2 drama behind Homeland.
From Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin, Billions follows the legal and financial jousting between U.S. Attorney General Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and hedge fund king Bobby Axelrod (Lewis). Season three finds the two tackling new enemies, with Chuck’s wife (and Axelrod’s performance coach) Wendy (Maggie Siff) riding the fence with her allegiance to both.
In addition to Giamatti, Lewis, and Siff, Billions stars Malin Ackerman (Trophy Wife), Toby Leonard Moore (John Wick), David Costabile (Lincoln), Condola Rashad (Smash), Asia Kate Dillon (Orange Is the New Black), and Jeffrey DeMunn (The Walking Dead).
Billions airs Sundays at 10:00 on Showtime.
