truTV has announced that acclaimed comedy At Home with Amy Sedaris has been renewed for a third season. The renewal comes along with the news that The Carbonaro Effect and Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks have been renewed for additional seasons, while the current season of Adam Ruins Everything has been extended.
“With our longstanding franchises to more recent successes like Tacoma FD, we’ve curated an original portfolio at TruTV that consistently delivers on telling distinct comedic stories from amazing talent that is resonating with fans and advertisers alike,” said TruTV president Chris Linn. “As we look ahead to the 2019-20 broadcast season and WarnerMedia’s expansion into new platforms, we’re excited about our unmatched potential for our wholly owned content that we’re developing for young adult audiences.”
Additionally, truTV has given a series order to animated comedy This Functional Family, about a multi-racial family fronted by a guy who wants to be a good son, better dad, decent brother, and solid ex-husband, and sports-centered game show Game Changers.
Wrapping its second season late last month, Emmy nominated At Home with Amy Sedaris stars Sedaris as the host of a fictional hospitality show, red-nosed regional wine lady Ronnie Vino, and seed heir and nosy neighbor extraordinaire Patty Hogg, among other roles. The series also features Heather Lawless, Ana Fabrega, Cole Escola, and David Pasquesi, while guests have included Justin Theroux, Rose Byrne, Ann Dowd, Bridget Everett, and Aidy Bryant.
The renewal fates of scripted comedies I’m Sorry and Tacoma FD should be decided by the time truTV has its upfront next week.
