Former pastry chef and friend to the show Chassie Tucker has been an integral part of At Home with Amy Sedaris becoming a hit television show. Whether she be sharing glimpses into her horrific childhood, snarking on Amy while quarter-assedly assisting in the craft room, or phoning the show from jail, Chassie’s contributions to the At Home world have been invaluable. But even though she would clearly rather be anywhere else whenever she’s on camera, could the show return the favor and help Chassie when she needs it the most?
On the next episode of At Home with Amy Sedaris, Amy plans to film an episode centered on caring for sick guests, with the focus on creating a sick room and fixing homemade chicken soup. However, things quickly take a turn when Chassie reveals the reason she weaseled her way in as the show’s “patient” is that she’s hiding out from her violent landlord (guest star Fred Armisen) after skipping out on the rent and stealing his drugs. As angry as Amy might be that Chassie brought this mess to her doorstep, Chassie is a friend and if she dies, the show is going to have go to through the headache of insurance and hiring somebody else. So might as well try to outsmart this latest threat and keep the At Home-verse stable for at least one more episode.
At Home with Amy Sedaris airs Tuesdays at 10:00 on truTV.
