Paramount Network has released the trailer for its upcoming Alicia Silverstone comedy American Woman and in it, we see a woman exploring her freedom for the first time and finding out just how much she’s missed.
Based on the life of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards and developed for television by John Riggi (30 Rock), American Woman tells the story of Bonnie (Silverstone), a mother of two who leaves her husband and sets about reclaiming her independence amid the rise of second-wave feminism in 1970s Los Angeles. The series follows Bonnie as she spreads her wings for the first time and attempts to find herself while raising her daughters the best she can.
In addition to Silverstone, American Woman stars Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Jennifer Bartels (Broken), Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), Makenna James (Transparent), and Lia McHugh (Totem). The series is part of a scripted slate that includes upcoming family drama Yellowstone and Heathers, a series adaptation of the cult comedy that had its premiere delayed due to the Parkland shooting.
The series premiere of American Woman is set to air Thursday, June 7th at 10:00 on Paramount Network.
