CRAIG: 8:00 Grey’s Anatomy; 9:00 A Million Little Things; 10:00 How to Get Away with Murder
ACTUAL SCHEDULE: 8:00 Grey’s Anatomy; 9:00 A Million Little Things; 10:00 How to Get Away with Murder
SHILO: Well, I’m glad that ABC kept A Million Little Things post-Grey’s. The series showed a real spark once it moved here from Wednesdays at 10:00 and it’s nice to see that ABC is still committed to soapy shows. If they were more optimistic on their development, I would criticize them more harshly for stubbornly clinging to the TGIT branding and not moving (what’s probably the final season of) Murder in order to launch something else. Murder wilted some when A Million Little Things made its move to Thursdays and likely won’t shoot back to life when the two return together in the fall. At least airing, say, Sundays at 10:00 or Tuesdays at 10:00, the show would be a stopgap in a problematic slot while allowing ABC to use one of its better drama slots for something new. Now, though, it’ll be stuck behind an incompatible lead-in while ABC (essentially) demotes The Rookie and sends Emergence and Stumptown into an unfriendly situation.
CRAIG: I’m okay with things staying as they are, for this season, at least. Or until midseason, I should say.
