Freeform has announced that new comedy grown-ish will be premiering Wednesday, January 3rd at 8:00, with lead-out (and recently renewed) Alone Together coming Wednesday, January 10th at 8:30.
“At Freeform, we are committed to our audience and this past year, we refined our programming strategy to be a destination place for trendsetting originals that champion youth culture,” said Tom Ascheim, President, Freeform. “Our upcoming slate is the biggest, boldest and most diverse it’s ever been–we look forward to making each show it’s own event and delivering empowering and entertaining originals to our viewers.”
A spinoff of acclaimed ABC comedy black-ish, grown-ish follows Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) as she enrolls in college and realizes that the way of life around campus isn’t what she’s used to. The series also stars Chris Parnell (Suburgatory), Deon Cole (Angie Tribeca), Francis Raisa (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), and Trevor Jackson (American Crime).
grown-ish and Alone Together join a scripted slate for Freeform that includes The Fosters, Shadowhunters, and Famous in Love. They’re the latest series to receive a premiere date for 2018 following Siren, Shadowhunters, and Beyond.
