ACTUAL SCHEDULE: 8:00 Legends of Tomorrow; 9:00 Arrow

SHILO: I don’t mind this. I get the tonal differences and how Arrow, like Supergirl, will be dealing with an upgrade in football competition, but The CW wanted to be aggressive on Thursdays at 9:00 and where Supergirl was called to action on Sundays, Legends made the most sense here. It already aired Mondays at 8:00 this season and the DC synergy between it and Arrow should offset their differences and keep them both from looking too bad. Where The CW has major change elsewhere, and more to promote than they’ve had in a while, this feels like a lower priority lineup that they trust will/can do okay without much push.

CRAIG: Huh. Initially I hated the idea of Arrow being on Mondays because of Monday Night Football but then I remembered how it handled Thursday Night Football all right. Legends of Tomorrow did decently on Mondays at 8 this Spring, so I get it, though it and Arrow have such different tones. Two CW-DC shows on one night also seems like overkill, but I guess it is convenient at crossover time. I still don’t really like this setup.

  1. Yeah, for CW, it’s all about the streaming deals and international audience, not Nielsen viewers. I do hope Sara Lance can show up on Arrow a few times now Quentin is gone and she’s met E-2 Laurel.
