With news of the cancellation of The CW’s Beauty and the Beast this past October, the “Beastie” fandom has not had much to celebrate when it comes to their favorite show. However, a release date for the DVD set for the third season might just give fans a little pep in their step!
After a redacted date was given for Beauty and the Beast: The Complete Third Season in December, fans have been clamoring for the real one. KSiteTV can now confirm a release date for May 10th, 2016, after our own staff writer contacted CBS Home Entertainment. You can pre-order your copy here!
It can be assumed that such a late release is due to a desire to use joint promotion for the DVD set and the anticipated Summer premiere of the show’s fourth, and final, season. Filming wrapped in the fall, with the final touches to the finale being made just last month.
Even so, the fans have not given up hope of seeing their favorite characters return. Thousands of fans are taking part in daily campaigns, from requesting a reversal of cancellation to The CW, to asking Netflix and Hulu to add the show to their own original programming. Weekly streaming parties amongst fans on Twitter frequently garner over four thousand tweets in their respective trending hours, showing there is still a high interest in the show. With revivals of shows happening left and right, it is more possible now than ever that the epic love tale will find some way to live on.
