Power Rangers Reaches 800 Episodes With “Sync or Swim”

A new episode of Power Rangers Dino Charge airs this Saturday at 12p.m./11c on Nickelodeon, and it’s a special one: the 800th episode of the complete Power Rangers franchise. How’s that for a long-runner?

The milestone is called “Sync or Swim,” and here’s a description:

A fun rivalry between Tyler and Ivan becomes a problem when it interferes with the efforts of the Rangers to find and defuse a bomb planted by Sledge’s monsters.

power-rangersWhile the episode promises to be a fairly standard character- and team-building adventure, Saban has certainly promoted the achievement. And for good reason: with 22 years under its belt, Power Rangers is one of the only childrens’ shows to amass such longevity, up there with cultural touchstones like Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. Those are some impressive things to be in league with.

Par the course with most promoted media events, Entertainment Weekly has released an “exclusive” photo — you can tell by the watermark — from the episode, which is on the left. Saban has released two preview clips, which are below. And don’t forget to check back for a review later this weekend!
