At this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, we spoke to Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus on The CW series The Originals, which sees the series moving to Thursdays this Fall following the show that spun it off, The Vampire Diaries.
Morgan is most excited that Season 3 will feature the presence of more vampires — particularly those who were the first in the sire line. The first season 1 was what he called “The Season of the Witches,” and Season 2 dealt with a lot of issues with parents. Morgan says that from the first three episodes of Season 3, “it’s very much more vampire-centric.”
We will also see some faces from the Original family’s past, many of whom we haven’t seen before.
Also in this video, Morgan talks about Klaus becoming an “anti-hero,” his character’s reaction to love, his interactions with Cami, wearing period costumes from “so many different eras,” his excitement for the show’s move to Thursdays, and more. He also reveals that we may see some never-before-seen eras on the show — “though please, not the Eighties” — and he talks about the potential for crossovers with The Vampire Diaries. Also, though you can’t hear the question (sorry!), Morgan answers a reporter’s question about which superhero woman he’d like to be… (Hey, we don’t get to ask all the questions ourselves!)
