    Update On The “Joe Rockford” Campaign

    This week’s Ask Ausiello column at EW.com featured a reader question about Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis) being cast in the role of Jim Rockford in NBC’s Rockford Files update. At least for now, the answer is no; or at least “not yet.”

    Question: There’s buzz that the talented Joe Flanigan will be cast as the lead in NBC’s Rockford Files remake. Is this true? —Joan
    Ausiello:     Definitely not true. I think that rumor got started in a Stargate chat room.

    Hopefully a casting announcement will come soon. Dozens of commenters to the previous “Joe Rockford” post here at KSiteTV seem to think Joe Flanigan would be a perfect fit, so hopefully he’s at least had the chance to audition!

      *Crosses fingers* Joe Flanigan would be fantastic in the role, IMO. He’s got the ability to make the part work and not just look pretty, y’know what I mean?

      C’mon, NBC! Bring on Joe Flanigan as Jim Rockford!!

      Joe Falnaigan would be the best choice I agree! He has the handsome good looks, the swagger, the dry wit and and a great actor to boot!
      To me he is the perfect, obvious and only choice to play Jim Rockford!

      When you read the “character description” of James Rockford then Joe Flanigan seems to be PERFECT for this role. I can’t really think of anybody else. I hope TPTB take it into consideration.

      Well I hope Ausiello is wrong or not in the know as he thinks he is NBC must have rocks in their heads if they let Joe slip through their fingers.

      Joe is just perfect for this role – i really hope TPTB are listening. Joe deserves to be given this chance.

      I will cross my fingers too that Joe Flanigan at least gets a chance to audition since I have no doubt that his talent alone will get him the job.

      I think Joe Flanigan would be great as Rockford. I hope he gets a chance to audition.

      Joe Flanigan would be the perfect Jim Rockford. He has the acting chops, the comic timing, the physical skills and the right look for the part. I would be there live to watch Joe as Rockford.

      Hey! I think Joe Flanigan would be great as the new Jim Rockford. He ia a good actor and has the rakish charm to make it work. I hope NBC is considering him.
