The Secret Circle, which just had Britt Robertson announced as part of the cast, is now in the process of casting to film the pilot, which is in contention for a spot on The CW’s Fall 2011 schedule — and let’s be honest, unless it’s really bad, it’s going to be on there, especially considering the talent involved.
KSiteTV has learned a little bit about the roles they are currently casting for the pilot. I’ve never read the books so I have no idea how different (or alike) these details are.
Cassie Blake – I’m imagining this is the main character. Her mother died in a fire and she’s recently moved into town. She does not know her father. She has a book that says “The Circle” and there are several names written on it. This is probably the role Britt Robertson is playing.
Faye Chamberlain – Her mother is the red-haired Vice Principal of the school. She doesn’t make a very good first impression on Cassie, and apologizes for it.
Dawn Chamberlain – Faye’s mom. Vice-Principal. She knew Cassie’s mother. She has a friend Jane who seems to know about the history of witchcraft in the area.
Diana – She’s one of the first friends Cassie makes. Another neighbor. She hangs out with Faye and they both share secrets. (of course!)
Adam – Cassie tells this character about the book of witchcraft that she has. He tells her to put it away and keep it a secret. He seems very sure of what he’s talking about, and it seems he is one of the Circle.
Nick Armstrong – Cassie just moved into his neighborhood. He talks about her as if she is attractive and sounds like a bit of a peeping Tom.
Other roles are also involved, such as “Sally Waltman,” “Thomas,” and “Melissa.” Fans of the books surely would have a better idea of what’s going on, but what we’re hearing sounds very good.

Very excited about this. Though, one correction, it’s Nick Armstrong, not Waltman. Nick and Sally aren’t related, and Sally isn’t apart of the Circle in any way.

Cant wait for the official casting to begin… The description of some the character are not true Faye’s mom is not the Vice-Principal and I dont even remember her being mentioned in the books..Nick’s second name is Armstrong hes related to Deborah Armstrong not Sally …Faye never apologizes to cassie she blackmails her into stealing the powerful Crystal Skull from Diana.. I dont remember anyone named “Thomas,” or “Melissa.

As a DIE-HARD huge fan of LJ’s Secret Circle, I am NOT excited about the sounds of what is brewing. Cassie’s mom doesn’t die in a fire. They live with her grandmother in the books. Faye’s mom is dead from a huge fight between good and evil that kills several parents of the kids in the coven. Melissa sounds like the role of Kori but she’s killed off pretty quick in the books.
So, not liking where they are going with this based on what I’ve read so far. I hope they move closer to the story of the book and not some wildly off base plot. The books are great keep the stories as they are.
