First appearing in Supernatural’s fourth season, Castiel has been a huge favorite among fans of the series, and a lot of that can be credited to Misha Collins, the actor who brings him to life. We talked with him last month on the red carpet for Supernatural’s 200th episode in Vancouver.
“I didn’t expect for my character to survive past the first three episodes, let alone past the first year, nor did I expect the show to last more than a couple years at that point. I don’t think that any of us ever dared to imagine that we’d be here at the 200th episode,” he said about attending the milestone party.
Misha credits the way the cast and crew get along as a reason why the show has gone on for so long. “I think we all like coming to work. We’re all friends, and getting to be friends with Jared and Jensen has been a really rewarding aspect of this job for me. This is, hands down, the best set I’ve ever worked on,” he said.
You can see video of our interview below, with more talk including Misha’s personal charities and “amazing interaction with fans,” to how different the real Misha is from “The French Mistake,” and more. Enjoy:
