Nina Dobrev Visits The Originals: Here’s What We Have To Look Forward To

Nina Dobrev plays a doppelganger we’ve never seen her playing before, Tatia, in the Monday, November 3 episode of The Originals titled “Red Door.” While the bigger twists of the episode are not things we can reveal at this point, we can share some teases if that’s your sort of thing.

OR205A_0599b– First off, no matter which bodies they’re in, the “revived” Mikaelsons are so much fun, and add a lot to the show. Esther is the kind of foe that a viewer can fear, and the things she puts Elijah through in Monday night’s episode are shocking. Finn in his new body doesn’t have a lot to do this time around, but what he does do is a sign of his power. Finally, Daniel Sharman in the new body of Kol, as “Kaleb,” adds a lot to the show, as a hopeful ally and young person for Davina to interact with. All three of the new actors embody power much like the actors that preceded them in their old bodies, and all three make me happy. So, there’s that.

    – Sebastian Roche also continues to be fantastic as Mikael. This season has really upped the ante of “family,” and you understand why the characters turned out the way they did, with this much dysfunction.

    – The episode features one of my favorite fight sequences in the history of the series. I’ve gotten the question of whether or not it’s in the trailer; at the very least, it’s not in the 20 second one that you can find below.

    – As mentioned before, Nina Dobrev appears as Tatia as we learn a part of Mikaelson history and see them in much younger days. Let’s just say that as usual with these shows, we don’t know the whole story.

OR205A_0571b– Because it’s The Originals, some people get hurt, possibly even fatally. And there is some biting.

    – Personally speaking, I’m very curious what Esther has planned, and if there’s a way to reconcile what she wants with what Mikael wants to do. I’m also VERY curious as to what would happen if they reunite.

    – Since Nina Dobrev is also busy filming The Vampire Diaries, I was at first concerned that Tatia would only be a little cameo; but, no. She is in “Red Door” quite a bit.

    – There’s at least one big shocker within that the audience will not see coming.

The Originals is a series that has become better and better, and with the right chance given by an audience, it could grow in the ratings. The key, of course, is to get that audience on. I’m happy to say that if you’re not a regular viewer of the show, “Red Door” is easy to follow, and a great place to jump on. Of course, just know that Kol, Finn, and Esther were in other bodies before so you don’t get confused.

Look for “Red Door” Monday night, November 3 on The CW. Some preview images can be found here, and if you’d like to see a trailer, you can find it below.

Great teases, but you haven’t commented on Nina Dobrev’s performance as Tatia. I don’t know if you’re allowed to reveal what she’s like, but I’m curious about how Nina’s performance is compared to the other 3 doppelgangers because she aced every one of them.
