CBS launches their new Fall season tonight (September 21) with the series premiere of Madam Secretary, which sees Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, “the shrewd, determined, newly appointed Secretary of State who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home.”
The series starts at 8PM (ET) tonight.
At this summer’s TCA Press Tour, Leoni said she was drawn to the show because she’s always really enjoyed a fish out of water story. “Pretty much by about page 2 of the script, I knew that’s what this was going to be. And Barbara’s writing is just, well, spectacular. I called Nina after my first read through the script and said I was in,” she recalled.
Here are some photos from tonight’s first episode of the show, which stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Bebe Neuwirth, Željko Ivanek, Geoffrey Arend, Patina Miller, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, and Evan Roe.
