Kelly Macdonald of Boardwalk Empire fame is the latest to join Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart, respectively, on the upcoming Lanterns series for HBO.
Macdonald’s character, Sheriff Kerry, is described as “a no-nonsense woman deeply devoted to her family and close-knit town. Her resilience, shaped by a complex past that’s hardened her resolve, anchors her when the community’s secrets begin to surface.” It is said that she will be a possible love interest for Kyle Chandler’s Hal.
James Hawes will be directing the first two episodes of Lanterns which comes from the creative minds of Damon Lindelof, Tom King, and Chris Mundy. A premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.
