ABC has handed out series orders to three series that were in development for the 2022-2023 TV season.
Drama Alaska stars Hilary Swank as Eileen Fitzgerald, a recently disgraced reporter who leaves her high-profile New York life behind to join a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage on a journey to find both personal and professional redemption. The show comes from director Tom McCarthy who did Stillwater.
Also on the drama front is The Rookie spinoff starring Niecy Nash, now officially called The Rookie: Feds. In this series, Nash will play “the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy.”
Finally, on the comedy side, there’s Not Dead Yet. Gina Rodriguez star as Nell Stevens, a broke and newly single self-described disaster, working to restart the life and career she left behind 10 years ago. When she lands the only job she can find – writing obituaries – Nell starts getting life advice from an unlikely source.
Sadly, news comes that ABC has passed on the high-profile update of L.A. Law.
More details and ideally trailers for the new 2022-2023 TV series should be available as ABC presents their Fall schedule next week.
