NBC had been waiting to make an official announcement regarding Manifest for Season 4, and now, it appears that on the eve of actors’ contracts expiring, they have chosen not to move forward beyond Season 3.
Deadline broke the news tonight, and they share that the studio Warner Bros. will look for a new home for the show. The series recently launched on Netflix and has been doing very well, which may be good for the show’s future. Additionally, the series has amassed a large, loyal, and vocal fan base who will surely want a continuation much like the ones shows like Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine had gotten after being “cancelled.”
Manifest was one of the highest-rated “bubble shows” of the past season. Surely, being owned by a studio that was not NBCUniversal had something to do with the decision. Here’s hoping for a turnaround of good news in the future.
