The CW has given a series order to new dramas Kung Fu and The Republic of Sarah, it was announced on Tuesday. The Hollywood Reporter indicates that The CW’s other two traditional pilots, political drama Maverick and its third iteration of The Lost Boys, have been rolled to next season, while planted spinoffs of Arrow and The 100 have fates yet to be determined.
The news comes a day after the network scooped up the rights to several scripted series that’ll likely be used as filler until The CW’s original content can get back into production after the coronavirus-induced hiatus. The duo join previously picked up Superman & Lois and Walker, Texas Ranger reboot Walker, both of whom were ordered straight-to-series earlier this year.
In addition to Liang, the series stars Eddie Liu, Gavin Stenhouse, Gwendoline Yeo, Jon Prasida, Kheng Hua Tan, Shannon Dang, and Tzi Ma.
In addition to Baker, the series stars Luke Mitchell, Forrest Goodluck, Hope Lauren, Ian Duff, Izabella Alvarez, Landry Bender, and Nia Holloway.
The CW will unveil its plans for fall 2020 on Thursday.
