Good News For Heroes, Chuck, and The Cape? NBC’s Bromstad Speaks

THR’s James Hibberd today posted an exclusive interview with NBC Entertainment President Angela Bromstad. In it, she talked about the prospects for NBC’s Fall 2010 schedule, and she had some very promising things to say about three series that have been talked about quite a lot here on KSiteTV.

On The Cape, Bromstad says that it looks fantastic. “We just saw it with special effects today. It’s close-ended and the hero catches the bad guy every week. Decisions are still outstanding, though, because we haven’t gotten back our testing yet,” she says. A pick-up for The Cape does not necessarily mean the end of Heroes, however. “With serialized shows like Parenthood and Heroes that don’t perform well in repeats we could be looking at shows sharing the same time slots (split between fall and spring). I wouldn’t count anything out. With shows like that we really have to sit down and figure out all the pieces of the schedule,” she says.

Fans of Chuck might finally be able to rest easy. “It’s our highest performing Monday night show,” Bromstad says. “We look at it as a very strong player and it’s a show that matches up with our new shows. It’s too early for me to say for certain as it’s a conversation we’re going to have next week.”

NBC will announce its Fall 2010 schedule in one week, on Monday, May 17. You can read the full interview with Angela Bromstad, where she talks about the rest of NBC’s possible plans, here.

UPDATE: Variety‘s Michael Schneider has weighed in on the above-mentioned shows in a new column He says Heroes “is expected to get a short 13-episode order to wrap things up — but given how disappointing that franchise has become, there’s likely not a lot of enthusiasm among execs at the net to go out of their way to give it a firm go before next week.” For Chuck, “a renewal seems to be a given.” The Cape is “on the hot list.”

Glad to see that NBC is keeping the really good shows, Chuck is one of the best shows after Smallville of course and other shows on other networks, but for NBC Chuck is it. Thank you
