Soon after the announcement that American Housewife is renewed, ABC has announced renewals for sitcoms Fresh off the Boat, Single Parents, and Bless This Mess as well as Nathan Fillion-starring drama The Rookie.
This is yet more news to come in a day that is full of it, as ABC is preparing to announce their 2019-2020 schedule on Tuesday, May 14.
Several of these shows had been on the bubble; Fresh off the Boat is surely helped by Disney’s acquisition of FOX. As for The Rookie, it is unsurprising that ABC wants to stay in the Nathan Fillion business, despite Season 1 possibly not getting the ratings that were expected.
