FOX has officially cancelled dystopian vampire drama The Passage, it was confirmed today.
Though The Passage was an okay performer in Live + Same Day ratings, it’s an expensive show to produce and comes as FOX is looking to rebrand its scripted slate. Were 20th Century Fox still the FOX network’s sister studio, it might’ve been able to sneak in since it’s a piece of IP that could be monetized internationally and fits the type of show that FOX likes to do. However, the studio is no longer attached and FOX seems to be moving away from genre dramas of this ilk, so The Passage was more a victim of timing than performance.
The series finale of The Passage aired in March on FOX.
