Deadline is reporting that Jason Biggs (Orange Is the New Black) will star in FOX multi-cam comedy pilot Geniuses. He’s set to play affable, enthusiastic father of four Mike.
From Lon Zimmet (I’m Sorry), Geniuses follows a South Jersey family led by blue-collar couple Cay (Maggie Lawson) and Mike (Biggs). The two are parents to four children, three of whom are certified geniuses.
In addition to his role on the Netflix dramedy, Biggs has appeared on the likes of Mad Love, The Good Wife, and Nightcap.
Geniuses is part of a fairly small comedy pilot slate for FOX that includes relationship vehicle Adam & Eve, which follows one couple across three stages of life; Patty’s Auto, which takes place at an auto repair shop with all female mechanics; and Richard Lovely, about a children’s book author whose most famous character comes to life.
The network has already ordered two animated comedies to series – Bless the Harts, centered on a Southern family voiced by the likes of Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler-starrer Duncanville.
