TNT has released a new recap video for the first season of Claws, only this time featuring five queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race to stand in for the baddest bitches in Palmetto. Bob the Drag Queen (as Desna), Gia Gunn (as Virginia), Alyssa Edwards (as Jennifer), Jinkx Monsoon (as Polly), and Valentina (as Quiet Ann) walk anybody who hasn’t caught up on the outrageous nail salon dramedy (or just wants to relive its insanity) through 10 episodes of twists, turns, and fierce manicures, all the while offering their own spin on things.
Also released today was a behind the scenes featurette for season two, which premiered June 10th. We see that instead of taking advantage of Zlata’s affinity for her in hopes of bringing the Russian down, Desna has taken to the commonalities that exist between her and Riva’s sister and how Zlata is the only person who really understands the position she’s in. During her time working for the Hussers, Desna has just been trying to survive and provide enough of a life for her girls and Dean to make this whole thing worth it. Now, though, she’s gotten a taste of the power that Uncle Daddy once enjoyed and likes it more than she expected, especially once Zlata takes her under her wing and shows her how to embrace being a woman in power.
But will Desna forget how badly she wanted to get out of this life of crime and out from under the thumb of the Russians in the first place?
Claws airs Sundays at 9:00 on TNT.
