CBS has gotten into the upfronts swing by ordering four new dramas and one more new comedy for next season.

A reboot of the 1980s Tom Selleck drama, Magnum PI follows ex-Navy SEAL Thomas Maverick (Jay Hernandez) as he returns home from Afghanistan and repurposes his skills into a career as a private investigator. The series also stars Zachary Knighton (Happy Endings) and Perdita Weeks (As Above, So Below).

From Craig Sweeny (Medium) and Craig Turk (The Good Wife), The Code tells the story of America’s brightest military minds taking on tough challenges inside the courtroom and out, with where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator, and a Marine. The series stars Dave Annable (Red Band Society), Ato Essandoh (Jason Bourne), and Phillipa Soo (Hamilton).

From Bryan Wyndbrandt and Steven Lilien (Gotham), with Greg Berlanti executive producing, God Friended Me is about an outspoken atheist who, upon realizing that God has friended him on Facebook, sets out to become a better person. The series stars Brandon Michael Hall (The Mayor), Joe Morton (Scandal), and Suraj Sharma (Homeland).

From Caitlin Parrish (Supergirl) and Erica Weiss (The View from Tall), with Ava DuVernay and Berlanti executive producing, The Red Line follows what happens after a white cop in Chicago mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor. The series tells its story through the eyes of three families with connections to the case and stars Noah Wyle (The Librarians), Noel Fisher (Shameless), and Vinny Chhibber (No Tomorrow).

From Corinne Kingsbury (Old School), Fam is a comedy centered on a woman’s younger half-sister who comes to live with her and her fiancĂ© to escape their train wreck of a father. The series stars Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Brian Stokes Mitchell (The Path), and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha).

These series join CBS’s previous orders of Welcome to the Neighborhood and an untitled Damon Wayans Jr. comedy, which were made earlier this week.
