Peyton List is adding a third DC Comics TV show to her resume.
The actress, who appeared on Smallville as Lois Lane’s sister Lucy and later played the sister of Captain Cold on The Flash, is joining the cast of Gotham as the third evolution of Ivy Pepper a.k.a. Poison Ivy. The character was previously played on the FOX series by Clare Foley and Maggie Geha, and the Gotham Season 4 role will be a recurring one.
Most recently, Peyton List appeared on USA’s Colony and was the lead in The CW’s Frequency TV series. She’s also well known to genre fans for her role as Cara in The CW’s remake of The Tomorrow People.
“In the continuing evolution of Poison Ivy’s origin story, Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics,” the Gotham producers said in a statement. “Dangerous. A live wire of crazy energy. She’ll set her sights on Gotham, intent on making the city her own green paradise.”
With this casting, List becomes one of the few actors to appear in three different DC TV projects in something that’s not a crossover. Others in this list include Adrianne Palicki (Smallville, Aquaman, and the 2011 Wonder Woman pilot), Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman, Smallville, Supergirl), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark, Smallville, Supergirl), Teri Hatcher (Lois & Clark, Smallville, Supergirl), Hiro Kanagawa (Smallville, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie), and Jack Larson (The Adventures of Superman, Superboy, Lois & Clark). Most of those previously mentioned roles were often one-shot or guest-star deals, however.
Peyton List will be making her first appearance on Gotham in 2018. The series airs Thursday nights on FOX.
