On Saturday, July 1st, we’ll be about six weeks into the summer TV season, which has given us new scripted shows about crime-adjacent nail salons, races featuring cars that run on human blood, and deadly fog, as well as featured the return of everything from Younger to Animal Kingdom, Playing House, and Wynonna Earp. What was once a fairly calm time in the TV focused primarily on reruns, specials, and a manageable amount of cable scripted content has turned into an entire season unto itself as broadcast looks for cost-efficient ways of keeping the lights on and cable tries to appeal to an audience hungry for the scripted shows they’re not getting on the Big Five networks.
It can be overwhelming trying to keep track of the depth and breadth that is summer TV, so KSiteTV is doing you a solid and compiling premiere dates beginning with July. This is limited to scripted and unscripted originals on broadcast and cable, so no Netflix/Hulu/Amazon content will be found here, nor will you see any TV movies or one-off specials. It’s meant as something of a cheat sheet so that you can see what exactly is premiering when and whether there’s something coming out that you might not have heard about but might appeal to you.
Among the highlights of July TV are the returns of Game of Thrones, The Fosters, and Being Mary Jane, as well as the premieres of Salvation, The Bold Type, Loaded, Raven’s Home, and I’m Sorry. You can check out the full list of shows coming in July below.
