Deadline is reporting that Charlie Barnett (Secrets and Lies) is set as a series regular on The CW’s military drama pilot Valor. He’ll be playing Ian, a West Point graduate working in Special Ops and the on-again, off-again boyfriend to helicopter pilot Nora.
From Kyle Jarrow (Lost Generation), Valor takes place on a U.S. Army base and follows an elite team of pilots trained specifically for clandestine missions. The series will center on Nora and Gallo (Matt Barr), pilots tasked with performing a Somali rescue mission meant to save a pair of American servicemen. However, the two share a secret from the initial operation that led to the capture of their comrades, a secret that they must keep from gaining the Army’s attention.
In addition to his role on the ABC anthology, Barnett has appeared on the likes of Chicago Fire, Code Black, and Mary + Jane.
Valor is one of six CW pilots currently in contention for 2017-18, joining fantasy-themed Searchers, soapy reboot Dynasty, DC-verse entrant Black Lightning, beauty pageant drama Insatiable, and cancer dramedy Life Sentence. Casting for every project will continue over the next few weeks, while decisions as to which pilots will be made into series should come down in early May.
