Channel Zero Renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 by Syfy

Syfy has announced that acclaimed anthology Channel Zero has been renewed for a third and fourth season, with the already sanctioned second season to premiere later this year.

“Channel Zero certainly hit a nerve with Candle Cove,” said Chris McCumber, President, USA and Syfy. “We look forward to creeping everyone out again this fall with No-End House– and can’t wait to see what nightmares Nick has in store for the future.”

Developed for television by Nick Antosca (Hannibal), who will return for both seasons three and four, Channel Zero is based on user-generated horror stories known as creepypastas. Season one, subtitled Candle Cove and based on the story by Kris Straub, focused on Mike Painter (Paul Schneider), a child psychologist who returns to his sleepy Ohio hometown in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his twin brother Eddie and how it related to a local children’s television show that aired at the same time.

Season two of Channel Zero, subtitled No-End House and based on the story by Brian Russell, follows Margot (Amy Forsyth), a young woman who visits a house of horrors consisting of a series of increasingly disturbing rooms. The season will co-star John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story) and Aisha Dee (Chasing Life).

Channel Zero premiered during a busy fall for Syfy, joining a lineup that included Z Nation, Van Helsing, Aftermath, and Incorporated. While Aftermath was cancelled after its sole season, Z Nation and Van Helsing were renewed, with Incorporated, which recently wrapped its debut season, still in limbo.

You can check out a teaser for Channel Zero: No-End House below, as well as KSiteTV’s thoughts on Candle Cove here.

Which creepypastas would you like to see come to life in Channel Zero seasons three and four? Would you want the show to branch out from Candle Cove in terms of tone and pace or do you want to see the show stick to its season one guns? Should Syfy continue delving into the world of scripted anthologies after the success of Channel Zero?
