This interview is part of a series of interviews from the red carpet of Warner Bros.’ “Television Out Of The Box” exhibit at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, CA. To read all of KSiteTV’s “Out Of The Box” coverage so far go here.

It’s been two weeks, but we’ve still got a few interviews left from the “Television Out Of The Box” red carpet. Today, we share our brief chat with Charlene Tilton, who played Lucy Ewing Cooper on the original Dallas series. She’ll be playing the role again when Dallas returns for a new generation June 13 on TNT.

Years before Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton became infamous, Lucy Ewing was the original TV bad rich girl. When we first met her, she was even sleeping with the Ewings’ ranch hand, Ray Krebbs, though they’d probably prefer that we forget that. Charlene Tilton played Lucy as a series regular for nine of the thirteen series of Dallas, and the new series premiere will be the first time we’ve seen her in character as Lucy on TV since 1990. Did she ever think she’d play Lucy again? “At 150 years old? No. I never thought that,” she jokes.

Tilton confirms that she is in three episodes of the ten-episode first season of the new Dallas, but that her part is “very small.” “Hopefully, they’ll bring me back. I would love to be on it,” she says.

Why has Dallas endured for so many years? “You know, it’s a show about family. About wealth. About sex. About greed. Mainly about family. So, it works. And these characters are iconic. They’re amazing,” she explains.

The “Television Out Of The Box” exhibit had some classic Dallas memorabilia, including J.R.’s famous hat. If you’re in Beverly Hills at any time, it’s a must-see. Our thanks to Ms. Tilton for taking the time to talk with us.

Come back tomorrow for another “Television Out Of The Box” interview with a TV favorite! Dallas returns with new episodes on TNT starting in June. See more of KSiteTV’s Dallas coverage here!
