Before the recent Degrassi premiere event in Los Angeles earlier this week, KSiteTV’s Craig Byrne had the opportunity to speak with the four visiting cast members – Munro Chambers (Eli), Alex Steele (Tori), Jordan Todosey (Adam), and Annie Clark (Fiona) – about the current state of their characters and what to expect when Season 11 returns on TeenNick February 20.
Some video of the interviews will be posted on Monday in anticipation of the event, but in the days leading up to it, every day KSiteTV will be presenting a new short Degrassi mini-interview.
Today’s spotlight goes on Munro Chambers, who joined the series as the broody and sometimes unstable Eli Goldsworthy in Season 10. Despite Eli’s moods, the character has become a fan favorite, especially when his romantic side is seen as he interacts with Clare (Aislinn Paul). Unfortunately for Eli, Clare has recently been romantically tied to Jake Martin… this can’t be good for Eli, can it? Although if Clare doesn’t want Eli… there were plenty of young women at Monday’s Degrassi event who would surely gladly run off with him.

It has been revealed that Clare and Jake might be thinking about having sex early in the new season. What is your reaction to that, and how will Eli react to that?
I think Eli’s already been pretty angry about the whole ordeal.I think he’s trying to get away from all that. I think he’s trying to get himself better, and just trying to be a better person who’ll calm down and relax.
Are we going to finally see Eli smiling this season?
[Laughs] I think you see him a smile a little bit, and you’re going to see him frown, because it’s Eli. The man can’t smile that much.
What do you think of being here in L.A. for the first part of the tour?
It’s incredible. I think it’s a great way to start off the tour. I know that these fans are really enthusiastic, and really amazing, and it’s going to be awesome.
