FOX has made its first major move toward building its midseason schedule by setting the premiere date for The X-Files season 11 and new drama 9-1-1. The duo will debut Wednesday, January 3rd at 8:00, with The X-Files leading off, 9-1-1 situated at 9:00, and both subbing in for the successful Empire/Star pairing. Said duo will return sometime in March.
Season 11 of The X-Files, which will once again star David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as the iconic duo of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, is set to feature guest appearances from Annabeth Gish (Pretty Little Liars), Robbie Amell (The Tomorrow People), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Karin Konoval (Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency), Barbara Hershey (Once Upon a Time), Haley Joel Osment (Future Man), and William B. Davis (Continuum).
9-1-1 and The X-Files are two members of a loaded midseason for FOX that includes airplane comedy LA to Vegas, medical drama The Resident, and music competition The Four. Further information about their midseason plans should be released in the coming weeks.
